Michael strives for a career in professional sports

e has made the PADSA team and thereafter the KZN Junior Sharks Team in rugby.

MICHAEL Maddocks, a Grade 6 pupil at Westville Senior Primary School has been chosen as the SPAR Star of the Month.

Michael has been a progressive athlete since a young age. He began his sports involvement with running and then swiftly moved on to karate, swimming, cricket and rugby.

He is dedicated to improving himself both on and off the field and is involved in all sports, producing excellent academic results too.

This year he entered the Midmar Mile for the first time and completed in excellent time. He has made the PADSA team and thereafter the KZN Junior Sharks Team in rugby.

He went on tour with the Junior Sharks to Vryheid and scored a try on this tour. He has advanced further in athletics with hurdles and has made Provincial level.

Michael is also very involved in music and is steadily progressing as a drummer. He has worked his way into the Marimba A Band and has recently gone on tour with the school to the International Steelpan and Marimba convention in Johannesburg.

Michael is an extremely dedicated and determined young man with great leadership qualities. He works hard at improving himself and looks forward to a career as a professional sportsman.
