Athletes lace up for annual trail run

Dozens of runners took part in the exciting 3 Falls Trail Run in aid of the Kloof Conservancy.

GREAT support from all the Kloof Conservancy’s enthusiastic runners and walkers ensured that the 2016 edition of the 3 Falls Trail Run was a great success.

“Sincere thanks to all the participants, sponsors, marshals and to Forest View Primary School. For the first time we had to stop entries three weeks before the event as we exceeded our limit of 300 runners.

“Unfortunately, we did have one serious injury, an ankle break with ligament damage, and some minor injuries but the support system worked and coped well with the emergency. The injured runner has a long recovery ahead but is keen to complete the course in 2017,” said Paolo Candotti, chairman for the Kloof Conservancy.

It was the fifth edition of the 3 Falls Trail run and eight runners that have completed all five were presented with permanent, personalised race numbers. The runners are Denise Reyneke, Cara Pechy, Fiona McCarthy, Kevin Williams, Margie Foord, Dave Mercer, Byron Field and Dawn MacKay.
