Students receive Protea Colours
They will also be representing Karate South Africa.
STUDENTS from the Westville Karate Club, Selvan Govender, Hemal Heeralal, Dhruv Heeralal and Trisha Vishnuduth, received their Protea Colours and will be representing Karate South Africa.
Shihan Selvan Govender (sixth dan), president and chief instructor of the association, said that he is proud of his students.
“It is through their dedication, commitment and hard work that they are ranked within Karate South Africa. The students have been put through an intense training programme at its main dojo, the Getfit Fitness Centre in Westville, ahead of the tournament,” he said.
Dhruv Heeralal and Trisha Vishnuduth will be competing in the 15th Africa Union Sports Council Region 5 Karate Union Championships from Thursday, 26 to Sunday, 29 May in Harare, Zimbabwe.
Hemal Heeralal will be competing in the ninth WKF K1 Youth Camp and Cup in Umag, Crotia from Sunday, 26 June to Tuesday, 5 July.
