Elite team nets success in international tennis tourney

HCA tennis players do well in Mauritius.

The elite team at JT Tennis Academy enjoyed two successful weeks in Mauritius for the Grade 5 ITF tournaments against stiff international competition.

Countries participating included China, Hong Kong, Denmark, Sweden, USA, France, Mauritius, South Africa, India, Czech Republic, Malaysia, Zimbabwe and Italy.

Curro HCA pupils, Amelie Boy, Kirsty Higgs, Daniel Forsythe and Luke Hawyes all took part in the two tournaments.

Amelie Boy achieved remarkable results in both the singles and doubles. Amelie’s highlight and the highlight for the Academy was making the final in the singles competition. She lost a very competitive match against Snehal Mane from India.

“Kirsty Higgs also excelled, showing what a quality doubles player she is. She showed a determined attitude and made the semi-finals of the girls’ doubles.The tournaments also proved to be great experience for Daniel and Luke who although they lost in the 1st round, showed great attitude and fighting spirit,” said coach, Jared Temlett.
