Raiders takes a double blow

Pinetown Raiders reveal their recent match results.

RAIDERS second XV took on Hillcrest on Wednesday, 13 May. Unfortunately the Raiders youngsters took a hard knock from the Hillcrest team, going down 50-5, the only points coming from replacement forward, Mbongeni.

The Raiders first XV morale and spirit took another blow on Saturday, 16 May when they lost the second home game in row. The first XV team came out firing at the start of the game, retaining 90 per cent territory in the game.

The second half saw two disallowed tries for the Raiders team and many decisions not going the Raiders’ way.

Frustration set in, and Rovers made sure to capitalise by converting their points opportunities. The final score was 12-3 to Rovers.

Pinetown Raiders will host its next home game on 6 June. Raiders second XV take on Amanzimtoti at Toti on Friday, 22 May at 7pm, and the first XV will take on Durban Mets at Westville Prison grounds on 23 May at 3pm.
