Highway JKA karateka rake in the medals

Highway JKA Karate students competed in the South African All Styles Championships in Gauteng recently.

IN the last three years Highway JKA has had a lot of success in both local and international tournaments, and this month was no different when their students represented KZN, excelling in the South African All Styles Championships held in Gauteng.

Sensei Leonardo Ciutto, chief instructor and coach, congratulated his students. Roxanne Neef and Aimee Harding received bronze medals for kata, and Tara Zalankas won a silver medal for kata and a gold medal for kumite (free fighting).

Shane Zalankas received a bronze medal for kata, Jade Thunder received a bronze medal for kumite and Lolly Constable finished in the top six for kumite.
