Shield hosts charity golf day

The Browns' School was the lucky recipient of a R10 000 donation in the Shield Buying and Distribution annual charity golf day.

SHIELD Buying and Distribution held their annual charity golf day at the Kloof Country Club on Tuesday, 5 August.

This year, Browns’ School was the lucky recipient of the R10 000 cheque.

KZN regional business development manager, Mark Ballard said they have the charity golf day every year and one deserving charity organisation is chosen.

“This year our head office in Johannesburg chose Browns’ School as it is a special needs school focused on ADD and ADHD,” he said.

The day started with 25 teams competing in a four ball alliance. The Sasko team were the winners of the day.

After the games there was food, drinks, lovely hampers were given away in lucky draws and entertainment by the Men in Black group.

The Browns’ School fundraiser, Lyn De Klerk said they are grateful for the generous donation.

“This cheque will assist with the needs of the school and our pupils, it will make a huge difference. The school will use it wisely,” she said.
