John Wesley players storm rugby field

John Wesley School's 1st rugby team has won four of their six games.

THE rugby players at John Wesley School in Pinetown have proven to be a formidable force on the field.

According to the principal at John Wesley School, Helen Birchall, the pupils had taken to the sport like ducks to water and she is very proud of their achievements.

“This is our school’s very first rugby season and our young players have embrace the game with commitment and enthusiasm,” said Helen.

Results for John Wesley School’s first rugby season:

vs Ashley Primary School the junior team drew 25 – 25; the 2nd team lost 10 – 15 and the 1st team drew 10 – 10.

vs George Campbell High School the 2nd team lost 5 – 15 and the 1st team won 35 – 25.

vs Lyndhurst Primary School the junior team drew 5 – 5, the 2nd team won 27 – 0; and the 1st team won 52 – 0.

vs Hillcrest Primary School the junior team lost 0 – 15; the 2nd team lost 5 – 10 and the 1st team won 38 – 10.

vs Berea West Preparatory School the junior team won 35 – 10 and the 1st team won 47 – 7.
