Teegan slides to shining silver

Kloof High School pupil, Teegan Coulonval, recently participated in the KZN Road and Time Trial Cycling Championships.

AN individual time trial is a road bicycle race in which cyclists race alone against the clock. These time trials are also referred to as “the race of truth” as winning depends solely on the individual rider’s strength and endurance, and not on any help provided by team-mates or cyclists riding ahead to create a slipstream.

Strength and endurance are qualities which Kloof High School pupil, Teegan Coulonval, possesses in abundance. He recently participated in the KZN Road and Time Trial Cycling Championships, which took place over two days in Ladysmith, and used these attributes to win a silver medal in the 20km time trial event.

The following day Teegan took part in the 84km road race, but unfortunately, in the sprint for gold, crashed 100m from the finish line. He climbed back onto his bike and finished in second place, nabbing his second silver medal.

“Kloof High School is extremely proud of Teegan’s achievements and we wish him well for the SA Championships, which will take place in KZN from 4 to 9 February,” said Dawn Lefort, principal of Kloof High School.
