Thank you Kloof SPCA

Letter to the Editor - week ending August, 13 2021.

I would like to say a heartfelt ‘thank you’ to the staff and volunteers at the Kloof and Highway SPCA. They have ensured, in the mayhem, that all the animals were extremely well cared for, fed, provided with warm blankets and clean enclosures. This dedicated group of people are, without exception, truly remarkable!

Veterinary staff still performed surgical procedures, while the management, senior staff, kennel men and volunteers never waivered. They worked calmly through the sound of gunshots and helicopters overhead to ensure none of the animals were traumatised. The tortoises and many species of bird life, from geese to peacocks, are still roaming freely in their forever home.

Thank you must also go to the patrollers. They gave of their time to ensure we all felt safe enough to continue caring for the animals who rely solely on us for their everyday needs.

Once again, a very big thank you!

Kloof SPCA volunteer
