EDITOR – The article which was published in the 15 January edition of the Highway Mail regarding the poor quality of black garbage bags, prompted me to write about the poor quality of the blue bags that are meant for garden refuse.

I purchased a pack some time back but found every one of the bags ripped to shreds as I tried to remove it from the roll, before even attempting to put any garden refuse in it.
It was totally unusable and very frustrating as they cost a fortune and I didn’t have the till slip to return the roll to the store. I also couldn’t remember which store I had bought them from as I shop at all the major supermarkets.
After reading that we can replace the poor quality bags at DSW in New Germany, I made the trip there only to be told that they didn’t have any blue bags there and after a few internal phone calls I left with the advice that I must return them to the store.
I was extremely disappointed that my problem was not sorted out. However, as I was pulling out of my parking the lady I had dealt with came running out to ask for my address as they were arranging for a replacement to be dropped off at my house.
I was very happy but still doubtful. I was pleasantly surprised to get a call later that day from a very kind gentleman who asked for directions as he was coming to drop off the bags.
Thank you so much to DSW for going out of their way to ensure I got my replacement bags, which are 100 times better quality than the ones I had. You have proven that you are prepared to go out of your way for your customers. Thank you very much. I am one happy customer!
