I AM standing at Home Affairs in Pinetown to collect a passport.
I was here two weeks ago at 4.30am to apply, so I have had lots of time to observe the progress of the GO!Durban construction work.
I am sure that there have been threats and delays due to taxi interference, but honestly, no interference is needed to slow this job down.
The bakkie with workers in blue only arrived at 8am; they were still sitting on the bakkie at 8.40am.
The workers in red were also standing around till 9am.
It is now after 9am and although the workers are off the bakkie, there is no real work happening. In normal building sites, work is in full swing by 7.30am.
Perhaps there should be less excuses and more good management of available resources.
Any private company working like this would be bankrupt in a couple of months.
