Residents give up recycling

"No one answers the phone and emails get the same treatment, no reply."

I REFER to your article dated 9 February about domestic recycling resuming.

For months we have not had either orange or clear bags.

In your article you quote a phone number and email address; both are a waste of time.

No one answers the phone and emails get the same treatment, no reply.

I have even approached our very active DA councillor for help…she couldn’t.

I put my two months accumulated recyclables out in white bags, and then watched in horror as the DSW Blue refuse truck staff just took four bags of paper, plastic and glass (luckily the bag scratchers had removed all the tins) and dumped them in with the regular refuse.

It saddens me to say this, but I have given up on recycling.

If any staff members of Mpact Recycling see this, tell them they are losing a lot of revenue as a lot of residents, have just given up.

I wonder why Mpact won’t do something about this situation, surely it would be in their interest.
