My heart bleeds for injured monkey

The monkey had a fractured pelvis which blocked the ureter, causing a distended bladder. He must have suffered terribly.

MY heart bleeds for this young male monkey who died needlessly, in great pain.

I found him near my water bowl on Friday morning, 17 November, around 8.15am.

My property has no fence and he must have crawled there after having been hit by a car.

He could hardly move and seemed to be at the end of his strength.

Steve Smit from Monkey Helpline arrived within 10 minutes and removed him gently.

Sadly, as the vet was about to examine him about 15 minutes later, he died in front of her.

The monkey had a fractured pelvis which blocked the ureter, causing a distended bladder.

He must have suffered terribly.

I can only join the plea to slow down when the monkeys are around.
