We welcome speed calming

We welcome the speed humps because it makes our road safer for pedestrians (especially children), cyclists, pets and the dassies which make our road their sunbathing spot.

WE live on Krantzview Road and a hump is also placed right outside our house.

Now you would think that the noise would be irritating for us but, like the barking of the dogs in our road, we’ve quickly become accustomed to it and no longer notice it.

There is another noise which is now far less frequently heard and that is the sound of cars racing along Krantzview Road, something we regard as far more dangerous and totally unacceptable.

So, in a nutshell, we welcome the speed humps because it makes our road safer for pedestrians (especially children), cyclists, cats, dogs (which are sometimes accidentally shut out) and the dassies which make our road their sunbathing spot.

The humps themselves have gradual approach and departure angles and, although I’m not an expert on these things, I would venture to suggest that the “little cars” would not suffer any damage if they travelled at more sedate speeds.

Happy with the humps
