Beware of talking to strangers

Moral : Do not engage with suspicious strangers asking questions or get distracted.

A FEW months ago, a youngish Indian gent of medium build approached me as I was getting into my car at Fields Shopping Centre.

He was asking directions to a road where there was a fabric factory.

He had a shiny gem on his canine tooth.

He kept talking and pointing to fabric on my seats and sat on the seat.

I told him to get away as I was sure he was trying to distract me to steal something from in my car.

I left the centre to see where he had gone to confront him. But he had left.

Minutes later, I happened to see him in Park Lane at offices.

I told him he tried to steal my phone. He said he saw it in the door slot but did not take it.

I was at my car in Bellevue premises behind Glen Cairn on 28 June.

The same guy came up to me and started talking through fence and asking questions.

He did not recognise me. I went up to him and suddenly grabbed him through fence, called for the security and mentioned that he had tried to steal my phone.

He ran off down the road before I could photograph him. He is bad news.

Moral : Do not engage with suspicious strangers asking questions or get distracted.

Beware.
