Positive Highway mail stories are a tonic

It gladdens my heart to read so many happy, positive stories and I am sure many other readers feel the same way.

THE Highway Mail, dated 26 May 2017 was a delight to read, with so many stories about people doing good things for their communities and achieving great things in their own fields of interest.

Mam Thandie in Westville doing her bit to deal with litter and paint graffitied walls, the young pole-dancing gymnast, Brooke Unsworth, Nick Evans’ always interesting articles on snakes, Thomas Rout dealing with his changed life, KKBA busy keeping Kloof beautiful and Giffy Duminy’s talent displayed for us all to enjoy on an otherwise drab, grey wall plus Fay Pennefather donating her lovely long hair to CANSA for wig-making… too many to mention in full.

And Mason du Plessis’s joyful photo on Page 1, The Boy from Transkei.

It gladdens my heart to read so many happy, positive stories and I am sure many other readers feel the same way.

Please keep it up, as I think it is a tonic for all of us.
