Thank you for coming to my father’s aid

A reader thanks all those who assisted his father when he had a heart attack and also apologised for his poor driving as he rushed his father to hospital.

EDITOR – My dad, Mr Veludo (79), left home in Waterfalls to go to work in Durban on Monday, 18 April. At around 6.30am while driving in Bridal Road, he had a heart attack/stroke.

Somehow the car ended up off the road on the grass on the opposite side. Lucky his son-in-law, José Caires, my brother-in-law, spotted the car and stopped to help and a woman and two gentleman also stopped to help. We want to thank everyone for the great help. There was no time to wait for the ambulance.

My brother-in-law and I rushed my dad to Hillcrest Hospital. I also would like to apologise to all road users who witnessed the way I drove from Waterfalls to the hospital on Monday morning – it was an emergency.
