EDITOR – One of your readers once wrote ‘Metro police have no teeth’. I think they do, because you always see them parked off at places and they are eating.
What they don’t have is guts to confront people who break all the traffic rules that have been written for years. Hillcrest drivers are some of the worst. They drive through red traffic lights, overtake on solid white lines, ignore stop signs, drive in the right lane on double lane roads and ignore speed signs. This goes for all everyone, not just taxi drivers (as most people say).
It is getting scary to drive in Hillcrest, and what makes it worse is that on many occasions I have seen Metro Police watch these incidents and ignore them as this interferes with their day, and they will still get their money at the end of the month anyway.
