How can I recycle without bags?

DSW responds regarding availability of orange recycling bags.

EDITOR – I have been in touch with the authorities who distribute the orange bags for recycling, and have even had contact with one of their woman employees over the phone, but still we are not getting orange bags.

What must one do in order to shake up the system? We are supposed to get bags, enough to use two a week, but this is not happening.

It is so frustrating when you so desperately want to do the right thing, but get no assistance. And I believe we are paying for these plastic bags via our rates. Correct me if I am wrong…

If there is anyone out there who feels the same way I do, please contact the department on dsw@durban.gov.za, and also e-mail kdbarec@durban.gov.za.

It may just work that we get some response if more people complain or query.
