EDITOR – Thank you most sincerely for the exposure in your Highway Mail last week and also in the Diary Dates from the organisers of the Mazarat Rescue Animal Market in Waterfall.
We enjoyed some top notch traders and really good food stalls. Also feral cat’s white elephant stall and menagerie animals were well worth a look. Mazarat books and raffle tickets were sold.
We appreciated the few kind folk who visited the tables. Sadly the traders closed the day nearly empty-handed.
We were shocked at the unnecessary water bombs mess in the toilet: the facility was made accessible to us very kindly, which saved us hiring one at R800 per day. Such disrespect from two youths – we are not sure of the cost to replace items yet.
One of the women cleaned up and found a roll of paper hand towels forced down the toilet.
I hope the youngsters come forward and offer to do some work, for example gardening at the premises or selling some of our raffle tickets as compensation for their fun.
Discussion on if another market is worth anyone’s time depends on public interest.
