Grateful for the directions

Free State resident thanks gentleman from Hillcrest for his time.

EDITOR – We are originally from the Free State and, having a holiday in Umdloti in December, we wanted to take a drive out to the Valley of a 1 000 Hills.

We had our GPS on, and somehow it took us into Hillcrest and we found ourselves totally lost. The next minute a car pulls up, and an elderly man got out of his car and said that he noticed our registration was FS and that we obviously were lost.

He took so much time to explain to us how to get to the Valley of a 1 000 Hills, which we found precisely with his directions. We did exchange names but have since forgotten his.

To this good samaritan, thank you for taking the time to turn off from your route, to stop and to help two strangers in your town.

We still have his instructions, and should you read this letter, to you Sir, may you be blessed for going the extra mile, and if more people in Hillcrest were like you, what a pleasant place it would be to reside in. You will always be remembered.
