EDITOR – I refer to the various correspondence regarding the elusive ‘orange’ bags. I have twice telephoned the numbers listed in the letter from Donna Noble, to no avail.
Granted the bags are collected, but replacements? They are non-existent. Not only were the ones received several months ago a peculiar shade of dirty orange (indicative of incorrect ‘purging’ of the extrusion machine), they were weak and tore at the slightest stress.
On the first occasion I phoned asking when new bags would be delivered, I was told the supplier was ‘out of stock’. A strange explanation as I would have thought the supplier would also be the manufacturer of the item. On the more recent occasion I was told the ‘contractor’ would be advised and bags would be delivered. Needless to say nothing has arrived. I hope our rates will be reduced accordingly and that any reference to recycling and concern for the planet by the Municipality will be treated as the hypocrisy it is.
