PARAMEDICS have, once again, advised motorists to drive with caution on the wet roads.
Garrith Jamieson from ALS Paramedics said this after saying that they have responded to numerous accidents today (Monday, September 16), treating multiple patients.
He said that around 07:30 this morning, they attended to a multiple-vehicle crash on the M7 Pinetown Bound after the Bellville off-ramp.

“Paramedics arrived on scene to find the badly damaged vehicles in the roadway. Four vehicles were involved in this collision, and it is alleged that one of the vehicles was travelling towards Durban when he somehow lost control and went through the centre before colliding into three cars before overturning.
“Five people sustained various injuries and were stabilised on the scene by ALS Paramedics before being transported to various Durban hospitals,” reported Jamieson.
In another accident also this morning, they attended to a taxi accident on Main Road in Malvern.
“Two patients were treated and transported to hospital for moderate injuries.”
Jamieson pleads with motorists to exercise caution as the rain is expected for the next few days.
He advised people to reduce speed, allow extra travel time and leave a little earlier, ensuring their vehicle is roadworthy – check your windscreen wipers and tyres.
“When it’s rainy and misty, use your headlights so you are visible,” added Jamieson.
