Birthday goodies for mahala – where to get them
I love free stuff. In fact, who doesn't? Free stuff on your birthday, however, is the absolute best.
AT the office, I’m often called Bargain Betty because I let everyone in on all the good deals I come across, and, I come across a lot.

It’s almost like I don’t go looking for the deals – the deals come looking for me – like the universe is saying, “Here, child, let the others know,” and so, off I go, bestowing my spotted on-sale wisdom to whoever will benefit from it.
Now that you know this, it should come as no surprise that I also know of a few lekker things one can get for free on their birthday.
Let’s admit, there are very few things in life that are better than knowing that you’re being given something for free, especially during your birthday month.
To wake up to emails and messages telling you a voucher has been loaded to your loyalty card or that you can visit a store to fetch your freebie, comes with a certain amount of joy because what do we actually get for free these days?
Here are a few something-somethings I woke up to on my born-day:
1. KitKat from Checkers
2. Chocolate from Shoprite
3. R50 Spur voucher
4. R50 Cotton On voucher
5. R100 John Dory’s voucher
6. Dessert from Wimpy
7. Helium balloon from Crazy Store
8. Movie ticket from Ster Kinekor
I know there’s a lot more out there. Maybe, next year, I’ll discover a few more to add to my list.
