Dog found shaved and spray-painted in Assagay

A reward is being offered after a dog was found shaved, spray-painted red and written on with a permanent marker in Assagay.

A REWARD of R10 000 is being offered for anyone with information that will lead to finding the person/s who spray-painted a dog in the Upper Highway area.

According to reports, the beloved fur baby named Irie escaped from her yard in Assagay and was found shaved, spray-painted red and written with a permanent marker.

Irie has been described as a friendly and loving fur baby who often visits Kloof Memorial Park.

In a post that has been shared on social media, it was reported that Irie has received veterinary care, including a sedative, and has been groomed to remove the paint. She will be taking activated charcoal for the next few days to eliminate any toxins from her system. Currently, she is resting but remains visibly shaken by the ordeal.

An appeal has been made to the community for any information that could help identify the person/s responsible for this.
