Camera club helps dogs find new homes

Westville Camera Club members helped Paw Prints Rescue and Rehoming which specialises in the rehoming and rehabilitation of puppies.

ON a humid Sunday morning in March, Westville Camera Club members responded to a request by Jade Ashford of Paw Prints Rescue and Rehoming, which is a non-profit organisation based in Botha’s Hill specialising in the rehoming and rehabilitation of puppies.

Due to the high influx of dogs and puppies, Ashford requested that photographers come along and capture beautiful images of the pups, which could assist in finding them homes.

Westville Camera Club members enjoyed a busy morning with the excited puppies and young dogs, and some memorable images were captured.

About the rescue home:

Paw Prints Rescue and Rehoming is a registered non-profit organisation with the overall objective to rescue, rehabilitate and rehome adult dogs and puppies that have been abandoned, abused, orphaned or are unwanted, and that would otherwise have miserable lives and premature deaths.

Since 2015, Ashford has rehomed more than 6 000 pups and dogs, including those from networking and sharing and other dogs in need of homes due to their owners immigrating, divorcing, downsizing or no longer in a financial position to be able to care for their dogs.

The adoption centre is based in Botha’s Hill on a 2-hectare property surrounded by lush green trees, misty hills and a small river. They are open on weekends for fur-kid cuddles and adoptions, or during the week by appointment only.
