BelRosView Youth Group gives back to community

The BelRosView Resident’s Organisation Youth Arm partnered with community members and local businesses to give shoes, stationery packs and various uniforms to needy families in the area.

THE BelRosView Youth Group recently held a ‘Back to School’ initiative at Bellair Park.

More than 100 pairs of school shoes, stationery packs and school uniforms were given out to children from underprivileged backgrounds on the day.

The BelRosView Resident’s Organisation serves Bellair, Rossburgh and Seaview and has a youth arm.

Kyara Naicker, who is the new chairperson of the BelRosView Youth Group, said she was blown away by the support from donors and sponsors.

“BelRosView isn’t newly formed but has been ongoing for a while, and I was elected as the youth chairperson with the aim of guiding and helping the youth in the area. At our recent Back to School fundraiser, we handed out 130 pairs of shoes, over 100 stationery packs and various uniforms to families in the area. We partnered with community members and local businesses who were phenomenal in giving up their time and donating the various packs for the cause.

“I’m truly blown away by the turnout. It’s truly a blessing to see the children smile, and we know the youth are our future, and we need to equip, guide and help them to get there. The cost of living has hit everyone hard, and the prices of school shoes, stationery and uniforms are extremely high which is why we hope to host more events like this in the near future,” she said.

Carmel Naidoo, whose company is based in the area, helped donate a 100 pairs of school shoes on the day.

“My husband and I are actively involved in various charitable outreaches, and we were honoured to have been a part of this initiative. It’s heartwarming to know the difference you can make to other people’s lives,” she said.
