Learners spread festive cheer

St Benedict School support a number of charities as a way of spreading love and sharing Christmas joy.

EVERY year, learners at St Benedict School, from Grade RR right through to matric, support a number of outreach programmes as a way of spreading love and sharing Christmas joy.

This year, each grade in the school selected a charity or organisation which they have supported throughout 2023 with visits and collections of donations.

The charities include the Robin Hood Foundation where donations from the Grade Ones have blessed the Gogos in Durban.
Centre for Rehabilitation of Wildlife (CROW) received visits and donations of food and cleaning materials from the Grade Two learners.

Animal Lifeline KZN was blessed with dog food and treats from the Grade Threes.

“As always, many donations were received from the generous families in the school who wanted to take the opportunity to share their blessings with the less fortunate,” said Grade Two educator Shareen Gould.

Sanelisiwe Tsinde

My name is Sanelisiwe Tsinde, and I'm a mother of two boys and very family-oriented. Being a community journalist for years, I can proudly say I love writing about positive community news articles and giving a voice to the voiceless. Seeing people getting assistance warms my heart. Every day is a different challenge and a new learning opportunity. I supply news for our trusted publication weekly, and a few years ago, Caxton ventured into online publication, so I contribute daily to the websites. I could say I am a multimedia journalist, and working in a community newspaper is beneficial as we do not focus on one thing but we do a bit of everything.
