The club’s membership chairperson, Bronwyn Paijmans, said all the Lions Clubs in District 410E compete, and the awards are given to clubs that have performed well in all areas of Lionism, which are environment, vision, diabetes, hunger alleviation and childhood cancer, and which uphold the Lions motto of ‘We Serve’ during the previous Lionistic year.

“This is the first year that the club has received so many awards, and this is thanks to all the enthusiastic and service-oriented members,” she said.

The Lions Club of Cowies Hill was chartered in 1975, and their meetings take place on the second Saturday of the month at their clubhouse in the Interpretive Centre at the Paradise Valley Nature Reserve, Pinetown.
