The Holah Baby House and Home for children with special needs has teamed up with local businesses to host their first market day on 10 Ridgemont Road, Crestholme. The market will take place from 09:00 to 14:00. On site will be craft and food stalls and pony rides and heaps of activities for the family. Sunday, August 27

Francois (Ha!Man) and Ant Cawthorn-Blazeby will bring Improvised Music – a Celestial Dance to eThekwini! They will be performing at Mandala Café, 33 Old Main Road, Botha’s Hill at 15:00. It will cost 120 couvert charge. Meals, coffee and cakes will be available from the restaurant. Booking is essential as numbers are limited. Contact: 082 680 4630.

All aboard the Umgeni Steam Railway at Inchanga Station! The perfect late winter outing is a ride on a fabulous vintage steam train through the rolling 1000 Hills – departing from and returning to Inchanga Station, this weekend. There will be four rides, and the trains will depart at 09:00 and 14:00 on Saturday, August 26 and Sunday, August 27. The Inchanga Craft Market will be in full swing with dozens of stalls offering family-friendly locally sourced fare. There is also a food garden offering a range of light meals and snacks, a play area and a picnic site. The Inchanga Railway Museum will be open for tours, and the model railway, Thomas & Friends, will be operational in the Modeller’s Hut. Two dance makers from KwaZulu-Natal, Marcia Mzindle and Lorin Sookool, will feature in the JOMBA! ON THE EDGE platform of the 25th JOMBA! The hilarious classic evergreen farce, Charley’s Aunt, will be performed at Westville Theatre Club from Thursday, August 31.
Set in Oxford during the 1890s, the imminent visit of Charles Wykeham’s millionaire aunt from Brazil, Donna Lucia, provides an excuse for Charles and Jack to invite their young ladies to meet the aunt so she can be their chaperone for their marriage proposals. The production runs every Thursday, Friday and Saturday, from August 31 to Saturday, September 16 at 19:00. There are two Sunday matinees on September 3 and 10 at 14:30.
