NPO helps keep Kloof beautiful

The Kloof Project is calling on the community to join them in the efforts of keeping Kloof beautiful.

WITH the aim to keep Kloof beautiful, The Kloof Project is encouraging recycling as one of the ways to take care of the environment.

To continue their work, the organisation invited the community to be part of their initiative. At the Fields Centre recently, the organisation opened up a platform to engage with the community while raising funds by putting up their stalls and banners and selling things, such as pens made from recycled products.

“The body of this pen is made from recycled single-use plastic water bottles which helps decrease the amount of plastic waste that ends up in the ocean or landfills.

“The contributions go towards the mission of the organisation to keep the area beautiful and safe for all its inhabitants through:

“The landscaping of public verges using indigenous flora, the cutting of sidewalks, the planting of indigenous trees and shrubs, the removal of unwanted graffiti, the arranging for street artists, such as Giffy, litter removal, tree planting and garden implementation, and liaising with the municipality, the Parks Department and provincial officers regarding aspects requiring attention in their respective areas, and working closely with the Kloof Conservancy and Community Police Forum (CPF).”
