Pinetown SAPS arrest domestic worker for perjury
The woman (33) alleged that two men broke into her workplace, but the video footage from neighbours showed her opening the gate for the suspects.
A 33-YEAR-OLD domestic worker has been arrested by Pinetown SAPS for perjury.
Pinetown Cluster communications officer Captain Bongumusa Manqele said the woman alleged that she was hanging up the washing at her workplace on Amand Road in Mariannhill Park at about 12:00 when she heard a noise coming from the house.

“She told police officers that upon entering the house, she saw an armed suspect carrying a TV. She also saw the second suspect breaking the lock of the driveway gate. It is further alleged that the suspects also stole jewellery as well as her cellphone before fleeing the scene in an unknown silver vehicle,” said Manqele.
Upon investigations, video footage from neighbouring homes revealed that the domestic worker opened the gate for the suspects to enter the property.
Manqele urged the community not to open false cases.
The suspect will be charged with perjury and will appear in court soon.
