WATCH: My electrifying experience at Monster Jam 2023

On Saturday, May 6, Monster Jam came to Durban's Moses Mabhida Stadium. These massive machines brought fans to their feet.

I WAS lucky enough to attend Monster Jam 2023 at Moses Mabhida Stadium last Saturday, and to say that I was blown away is an understatement. The energy was electric from the time I entered the stadium to take my seat, and Moses Mabhida Stadium was filled to the brim with Durbanites, eager to see the Monster Jam trucks go head to head.

The stars of the show are the biggest performers on four wheels – the Monster Jam trucks. These massive machines brought fans to their feet from the moment they drove onto the track. Voting was in our hands as the audience, and it’s safe to say that the Durban crowd had some favourites.

Monster Jam driver Tristan England and his truck Blue Thunder, sped into first place in the head-to-head battles. Miranda Cozad and the Monster Mutt Dalmatian wowed the audience with epic tricks, and each monster truck and driver showed off their skills in the freestyling round, which was my personal favourite. Something else I absolutely loved to see was that at Monster Jam, male and female world-class drivers are equally competing for the same championship on the same track.

My only regret is I wish I had gone along with more people because at Monster Jam, you have to see it to believe it.
