Don’t miss Freedom Day music festival

What better way to spend Freedom Day next Thursday, April 27, than being entertained by the cream of the province's musical talent.

YOUTH music groups and ensembles from across the province will gather at Fig Tree Farm in Hillcrest on Freedom Day for a day of music, fun, picnics and the spirit of Ubuntu in KwaZulu-Natal’s warm autumn sunshine.

After the success last year of Kearsney College’s inaugural Freedom Day Youth Music Festival, the stage has been repositioned to provide more space for musicians and their audience.

This year, there will be three provincial youth music ensembles performing – the KZN Youth Choir, the KZN Youth Orchestra and the KZN Youth Wind Band – with 16 school groups.

Joining the international award-winning Kearsney College Choir and Gumboot Dancers will be St Anne’s, St Mary’s DSG, Reddam House Umhlanga, Glenwood High, Durban Girls’ College, Westville Senior Primary, St Benedict’s, St Henry’s, Highbury, Eshowe High, Pinetown Girls’ High, Maritzburg Christian School, Treverton, Umhlali Prep and Imbeleko Academy.

Bring picnic baskets and blankets, or sample some of the delicious food and drinks on offer at the venue.

Tickets are available from www.quicket.co.za at R150 for adults and R100 for students and pensioners.
