The pleasure of storytelling

Highway Mail journalist shares stories that have highlighted her journey with Highway Mail so far.

I have been fortunate to be given an opportunity to be part of the Highway Mail team. Since starting as a multi-media journalist at the Highway Mail in July this year, I have met wonderful community members and leaders who were the mouthpieces of the stories I got to tell.

When I chose journalism as a career, I only had the writing and storytelling in mind – meeting new people and enriching my knowledge came as a wonderful bonus.

The Highway Mail newspaper has been filled with amazing and not-so-amazing stories, from the unfortunate incidents of crimes, the learners in local schools who were doing amazing work, to the community activists who dared to be the change we all desired.

All these stories have been a pleasure to pen and a marvel to experience. Below are my top 5 stories, in no particular order, that I have been able to pen and share during the six months I have been with the Highway Mail.
