2.2m Black Mamba slithers into a bedroom, shocks homeowner

The snake was safely captured by a Kloof and Highway SPCA inspector and later released.

A HOMEOWNER was greeted by a large Black Mamba in his bedroom when he returned home from his nightshift work.
The owner called the Kloof and Highway SPCA, and Inspector Israel Silevu responded.
According to the SPCA, the homeowner in Demat was changing his clothes when something caught his eye – a large Black Mamba in his bedroom.
Silevu safely captured the 2.2m long snake, and it was released in the afternoon.
“We would like to thank the home owners for contacting the Kloof and Highway SPCA – even though he was scared, he still chose to call and get help instead of harming the frightened snake,” said the SPCA.

My name is Sanelisiwe Tsinde, and I'm a mother of two boys and very family-oriented. Being a community journalist for years, I can proudly say I love writing about positive community news articles and giving a voice to the voiceless. Seeing people getting assistance warms my heart. Every day is a different challenge and a new learning opportunity. I supply news for our trusted publication weekly, and a few years ago, Caxton ventured into online publication, so I contribute daily to the websites. I could say I am a multimedia journalist, and working in a community newspaper is beneficial as we do not focus on one thing but we do a bit of everything.
