Pianist to play in Kloof’s stone church

Christopher Duigan is due to play for Kloof audiences this weekend, at St. Agnes Anglican Church.

RENOWNED pianist Christopher Duigan returns to Kloof with a spring programme of music.

Duigan will perform in the stone church at St Agnes Church, Kloof on Sunday, October 23 at 15:00.

For this performance, Duigan will play a spring programme of the 20 Most Popular Classics, which includes many of the most recognised and celebrated classical piano melodies from his vast repertoire. The pianist will include Mozart’s Rondo all turca, de Falla; Liszt’s Ritual Fire Dance; Debussy’s Hungarian Rhapsody No. 2; Clair de lune and Chopin’s Polonaise Op. 53.

He may also include a number of favourites from his recent live-stream series. The streaming project of more than 225 hour-long productions, presented online on Duigan’s YouTube channel and Facebook pages, offered local and international audiences an uplifting and enlightening free-to-view experience during lockdown.

Should you be a book lover, come early as one of the Denis Hurley Centre’s Street Lit vendors will be there prior to the concert and during the interval. The Street Lit Vendors sell a varied selection of pre-owned books.

The organisers are aware of Amashova road closures on Sunday, October 23, and they have been assures that the roads will be re-open in time for the concert. In the unlikely event of traffic congestion, the organisers will make allowances for latecomers. Secure parking is available, and seating is unreserved.
