An urgent call for justice has been declared against a police officer accused of killing two women.

A police officer who is accused of the murder of two women is expected to appear at the Pinetown Magistrate’s court this morning. KwaZulu-Natal police spokesperson Nqobile Gwala said a case of murder was reported at Hillcrest SAPS on October 14 at 00:20 where the suspect was subsequently detained by the Independent Police Investigative Directorate.

KwaZulu-Natal Social Development MEC Nonhlanhla Khoza has called on the justice system to grind harder on the police officer accused of killing two young women in the KwaNyuswa area west of Durban.

“Although the information remains sketchy, it’s alleged that both young women were shot multiple times, and 11 spent cartridges were found on the scene. It is believed that the firearm used could be a service pistol.  It is alleged that the police officer was in a romantic relationship with both deceased,” stated the department.

This case was postponed to October 26 for a bail hearing.
