Forum celebrates women

The Wyebank Hindu Temple Women’s Forum is calling on women to join them in their celebration of Women's month on August 24 from 14:00 to 17:00.

JOIN the Wyebank Hindu Temple Women’s Forum (WHTWF) as they celebrate the ‘phenomenal woman’ on Saturday, August 24, from 14:00 to 17:00. This event honours Women’s Month by bringing together women from diverse cultures and backgrounds to celebrate womanhood. This year’s theme colour, shades of purple, represents justice and dignity.

Venessa Pillay from WHTWF shared that the event aims to raise awareness on various topics affecting women, featuring expert speakers:

– Dr Nirmala Reddy: ‘Living Your Authentic Life while Fulfilling Your Roles’
– Sureka Singh: ‘Who I Am’
– Symone Chetty: ‘Wills and Estate’

The programme is free, with complimentary tea and refreshments by Karanicha’s, plus exciting Lucky Draws.

Throughout the past year, WHTWF has engaged in numerous activities, including:

– A Palliative Care Workshop with Dr Thilo Govender
– A Garland Workshop with Kyle Naidoo
– A Cultural Concert
– Prayer festivals
– Food-hamper distribution for Tongaat Tornado Relief

Ongoing community programmes include:

– Yoga Classes (Saturdays, 08:00 – 09:00)
– Zumba Classes (Wednesdays, 18:00 – 19:00)
– Tamil and Music Classes (Tuesdays, 18:00 – 19:30)
