Kloof Junior Primary School awarded with an award for their efforts in recycling.

KLOOF Junior Primary School will be purchasing more recycling bins as part of their recycling initiative with Mpact. With their prize money of R1 000, the school said they will further their efforts in recycling. Kloof Junior Primary School’s marketing officer, Mandisa Majola, said the school came fourth in the schools’ recycling competition.

Mpact is South Africa’s largest collector of recyclable packaging.

Majola said all parents and children bring in recycling items from home, and Mpact collects from their school every week.

“Mpact keeps track of the weight and tonnage of the items brought in, and they run a competition throughout the year with various KZN schools. At the end of the year, the school with the highest tonnage wins the competition. The school ranked fourth and was awarded with R1 000 which will be used to purchase more recycling bins for our school,” she said.
