Man nabbed with stolen copper in Westmead

A male was spotted walking with 15m of copper cable which was suspected to have been stolen.

A SUSPECT was charged with being in possession of stolen goods in the Westmead area on Monday morning. Marshall Security reported that around 07:45 in the morning, their armed response officer spotted a male while on his patrol routine on Henry Pennington Road.

“The individual was in possession of a copper cable of approximately 15m long. The officer promptly stopped and interviewed the male, with members of our Tactical Team arriving shortly after as backup. The male could not provide our officers with a reasonable explanation as to how he had the cable in his possession, and he was immediately apprehended. Pinetown SAPS were informed and arrived on scene within minutes,” they said.

Marshall Security further reported that it could not be established as to where the copper cable was stolen from, however, the suspect was transported to Pinetown SAPS and will be charged for being in possession of suspected stolen items.
