St Mary’s DSG Kloof Class of 2023 leave a legacy

The 2023 matric class of St Mary's DSG Kloof started a bursary fund for deserving students.

THE newest group of the St Mary’s Old Girls has already started their legacy by leaving behind a bursary fund. The Class of 2023 designated their matric gift to start a bursary fund through the St Mary’s Foundation Trust.

Explaining about this legacy, St Mary’s communications officer, Sarah Bartholomew, said, “This fund will grow through once-off and monthly donations and go towards awarding a promising young girl the opportunity to study at our phenomenal school in the future.”

St Mary’s Diocesan School for Girls in Kloof turned 117 years old this year, and the Foundation Trust was established to ensure the legacy of St Mary’s for future generations.
“ It exists to ensure that girls receive the inspiration and support they need to become remarkable women. By educating a girl, you are changing her whole world so she can change the world,” said Bartholomew.

She further highlighted that the Class Bursary Funds give the departing matrics a beautiful way to create and build an enduring legacy that will impact a future girl’s life.

“Thank you, Class of 2023 – our newest St Mary’s Old Girls,” added Bartholomew.
