SPCA prepares for Carols by Candlelight

Christmas preparations are underway at the Kloof and Highway SPCA.

CHRISTMAS is in the air, and the carols are ready as the Kloof and Highway SPCA prepares for their annual Carols by Candlelight.

Loved by many, the event is a year-end fundraiser for the organisation and a chance for the community to come together in the Christmas spirit. Preparations are in place as decorations are up in the tea garden and charity shops inside the SPCA.

Kloof and Highway SPCA marketing manager Brigitte Ferguson said they are excitedly preparing for the annual event and are happy to be welcoming community members to their beautifully decorated environment.

“This year, for the Carols by Candlelight, we are keeping it traditional: The Durban Regiment Pipe Band will open the evening, followed by Belinda Dolphin who will coordinate and lead the favourite carols we all love to sing. We have some other entertainment surprises in store, as well, on the day.

“Delicious food and refreshments will be on sale with various vendors, such as The Vegan Kitchen, Marilyn’s Tea Garden, Paws for Coffee and Langton’s Brewery, and we encourage attendees to bring their own camp chairs and blankets and join in on the festivities we have all missed so much,” she said.

The annual event will be on December 16 from 18:00 to 20:00 in Marilyn’s Tea Garden at the SPCA, 29 Village Road, Kloof.

Tickets can be purchased on Quicket from December 8. They cost R50 per person and R20 for children under 12, and dogs on leads are most welcome.

“There are so many wonderful end-of-year celebrations, but we ask that you support our Kloof and Highway SPCA as we enter the most difficult time of the year for our animals – we can only continue the work we do with your support,” she said.
