Celebrate World Adoption Day with Holah Baby Home

Holah Baby Home will be hosting their annual High Tea in celebration of World Adoption Day.

IN celebration of World Adoption Day, which is on November 9, Holah Baby Home commemorates the positive impacts of adoption with their annual High Tea.

In the lead-up to their High Tea and World Adoption Day, the founder of Holah Baby Home, Kim Brown, touches on the adoption story of one of their family members.

“Born with a smile that made hearts melt and enough energy to power Eskom, this sweet little boy, who arrived at Holah at just two weeks old, quickly crept into everyone’s hearts. The early beginnings carried the weight of so much trauma, yet from tiny, he was capable of turning so much of his story into immense joy, which was and is still contagious to all around him. On the day he arrived, our founder, Leanne, was called to a scene, one which will be imprinted on her mind forever.

“The events leading up to this moment would make you question humanity. We instantly knew that this was a child we had to fight for and do what was in his best interests. This particular adoption is one where we got to see extended biological family support. They stepped in through legal battles, supported and loved this little boy, all the while fighting for his best interests: a happy home. Cade instantly formed a bond with the friends of Holah.

“Cade continues to spread so much love and joy wherever he goes. He has blossomed in his forever family where he was a witness to his parents’ engagement and wedding and has welcomed two younger brothers. Adoption really is beautiful, and Cade’s story shows just that. But this story is not ours alone; this story is one of many people coming together.

“The support, guidance and love from Holah; the support, fight and love from his social workers; the support, love and showing up from his biological family; the support, expertise and guidance from his legal team, and ultimately the unfailing love, commitment and perseverance from his forever family were all part of a five-year battle, and here we are, celebrating the one-year adoption anniversary of Cade in his family.

The Holah Baby Home is inviting the community to their High Tea which helps them create more beautiful stories. The High Tea will be on November 9 from 10:00 to 12:00 at Talksure in Umhlanga. For more information, Kim can be contacted on 083 232 5501.
