Hirsch Hillcrest embarks on a project to recycle electronic waste.

HIRSCH’S Hillcrest has launched a recycling project for electronic waste. This is in partnership with Triplo4 Sustainable Solutions (Pty) Ltd and Indalo Electronic Recyclers.

Richard Hirsch, CEO of Hirsch’s, said they are committed to environmental sustainability, and as part of this commitment, they are excited to announce the launch of their new recycling project for electronic waste.

“We are proud to be taking this step towards a more sustainable future with our partners from Triplo4 Sustainable Solutions and Indalo Electronic Recyclers. We encourage our customers to participate in this project and help us to make a difference for the environment.

“We are always looking for ways to improve our environmental practices, and we believe that by working together, we can make a difference to the planet,” said Hirsch.

Hirsch’s have placed bins at all their stores in KZN, Gauteng and the Cape, and the public is encouraged to drop off electronic waste – including cables, digital clocks, keyboards, laptops, calculators, remote controls and the computer mouse – in the marked bins in the shops.

CEO of Triplo4 Sustainable Solutions, Hantie Plomp, was the guest speaker at Hirsch’s Hillcrest’s monthly networking meeting recently, and she spoke about the programme, explaining the importance of collecting e-waste to prevent it from ending up in landfills, causing damage to the environment, conserving natural resources and reducing pollution.
