World Bacon Day is celebrated on the first Saturday of every September.
It calls for the world to unite and to appreciate the mouth-watering meat by cooking up their favourite bacon dish.

As we go into spring and warmer weather, salads become appealing again. Here is a delicious bacon-tomato salad recipe adapted from a recipe on Taste of Home:
Bacon-Tomato Salad
Ingredients
1 package iceberg lettuce blend or an iceberg lettuce head
2 cups grape tomatoes, halved
1/2 cup Spur salad sauce
3/4 cup shredded cheddar cheese
12 bacon strips, cooked and crumbled
Method:
Break the lettuce up into smaller pieces. In a large bowl, combine the lettuce and tomatoes. Drizzle with dressing; sprinkle with cheese and bacon.
