VIDEO: International Beer Day – the brewing process explained

The brewing process takes about eight hours while fermentation takes up to two weeks.

IF you are feeling ‘hop’timistic about the weekend, it might be because yesterday marked International Beer Day.

Some might say this awareness day is ‘larger’ than life – it’s a global celebration of one of the oldest drinks in history – beer.

In celebration of the special day, we visited Robinsons Brewery in Durban’s Point area to find out more about the process that transforms hops, barley and water into beer.

In this video clip, Paul ten Hoorn Boer and Bhekithemba Mdanda of That Brewing Company, based at Robinsons Brewery, explain the process – from eights hours of brewing to the two-week fermentation process until it’s time to bottle the beer and enjoy – cheers!
