Dr Harri (Udhir Harrinarain – aka Dr Harri) has been a dentist for six years. He has worked in practices in and around Durban and says having his own practice has had its challenges – like many first-year businesses experience – but he is certain that with his fantastic team, they can overcome anything that is thrown their way. Dr Harri believes that prevention is better than cure and urges the community to visit their dentist for a check-up at least every six months to avoid expensive and invasive treatments. He also says it is vital to bring children in for regular check-ups from a young age. This will help them to get comfortable in the dental environment, while ensuring pleasant experiences, and in turn they will also be more motivated to look after their teeth. Dr Harri has been known to make the most nervous patient (which is most of us) feel at ease during treatment, and he says nothing gives him more joy than having a nervous patient walk out his rooms smiling.
