Comic Con Africa brings you free-to-play gaming tournaments

Each day at Comic Con Africa will see a different gaming title getting the spotlight.

COMIC Con Africa and Doritos® have announced the Doritos® Crunch Cup, a series of free-to-play tournaments at this year’s event at the Johannesburg Expo Centre.

Each day at Comic Con Africa will see a different gaming title getting the spotlight, including Fortnite (September 22), Tekken 7 (September 23), Street Fighter V (September 24) and FIFA 22 (September 25).

Entry into all tournaments is free and is open to all skill levels.

There is a R4 000 cash prize up for grabs each day. All tournaments will be 1v1, played on PlayStation 4 consoles, and will be in single elimination format.

Registration for each tournament will take place at the Doritos Crunch Zone (located in the Gaming Hall) at Comic Con Africa from 09:00 each day, and only the first 96 people will secure their spot to compete in each tournament – so arrive early to avoid disappointment.

Comic Con Africa’s show director, Carla Massmann, said the best part of the free-to-play tournament is that it will be open to all.
